Research interests

Education markets, education as a commodity, business methods and industrial / commercial management styles and ideologies used to manage educational establishments, and whether these approaches are appropriate.

Career history

25 years teaching in a wide range of contexts including further, secondary, adult, independent and higher education. Six years in industry and one directorship of a small business. External Examiner for Northampton University. For most of my adult life I have also had a parallel career running alongside my full time one, for example I was an officer in the Territorial Army for 12 years and currently my husband and I foster children from difficult backgrounds.
